Definitely one of the best free VST plugins you ought to have in your VST rig! 33) MX Project T. Rex 606 Modelled after the vintage Roland TR-606 drum machine of yore, The T.REX 606 is a beast in its own right with some added bells and whistles.

  • The Superwave P8 is a virtual analog subtractive synthesizer that’s considered the go-to emulator of the vintage synth Roland JP8000. This one perhaps one of the few if not only best free VST synth on this list that is more suitable for an advanced user than someone who is just starting out.
  • There are tons and I've tried them all. I like the Moog presets for reason from eXode. Also LittleOne is a great newer moog emulation. The biggest problem I find with most moog emulations isn't the sound. It's the preset browsing and GUI.

Currently, the plugin is PC only and only available in 32-bit flavor which means that if you are using a 64-bit DAW or VST host you will need some sort of bridging solution so that it can work on your computer. This was composed on Ableton Live with a 32-bit VST bridge to host the plugin on a PC.
