Moog Voyager Vst Plugin

In order to achieve highly flexible sound manipulation while maintaining the same exact sound of the original hardware, we evolved our synth engine to include circuit-level filter models of 4 of the best sounding machines of all time: Moog transistor ladder, (found in the Minimoog and Modular Moog), Roland's IR3109 chip (found in the Jupiter-8 and Juno-60), the famous Curtis CEM3320 chip. Moog has released a new plugin, Voyager Plug SE, designed to let you take control of a Minimoog Voyager from within your DAW. The Voyager Plug SE links the analog sound and power of a Minimoog Voyager with an DAW-ready plug-in for Mac and PC (AU/VST). The plugin lets you route controls, create complex modulations, manage.

Price: Free to download

2Rule Filter:

“2RuleFilter” is a self-resonant moog type filter that allows the filter cut-off frequency to be controlled manually, or by LFO, or by an envelope follower. It has a interresting feature called “scrambler” that plays filtered signal randomly depending on the selected beat. The “mix” knob mixies wet and dry signals, The “volume” knob is for setting the output volume level. The”Bit crusher” produces hard sound. Using its scramble feature you can maintain the rhythmic, choppy, buffered and tempo sync output.

  • High Pass, Low Pass, Band Pass filter
  • Modulation of filter cut-off frequency by LFO (tempo-sync), manuallly or envelope follower(reversable)
  • Bit crusher (16bit to 1 bit)
  • Scrambler that devide one measure to different time intervall and plays beats randomly.
  • Mix ballance in between dry(input signal) and wet(filtered and bit crushed).
  • Sensitivity that allows the filter cut-off frequency be changed from roughly to smoothly. This effect is the same of parameter smoothing.

Audio Damage: 914 Fixed Filter Bank – link

Price: $39

The Audio Damage 914 Fixed Filter Bank is a faithful recreation of the Moog Modular Synthesizer’s 914 module, and a major upgrade to our original 907A plugin. This plugin creates unique filter textures by passing the signal through twelve band-pass filters, as well as a low-pass and high-pass filter.

The 914 is a subtle effect, capable of adding rich luster to pads, and giving percussive and lead synth sounds a vocal quality. It is an excellent tool for the sound designer’s palette, simple to use yet capable of complex and unique timbres. Improvements over the original 907A include a bandwidth control, separate level adjustments for wet and dry signal, makeup gain, and four extra frequency bands.

914 Fixed Filter Bank Features:

» 24db Low-pass and high-pass filters.

» Twelve fixed-frequency band-pass filters.

» True stereo operation.

» Separate wet and dry level controls.

MoogFilter – Link

Price: 19 €

This is a MIDI-controllable filter, that gives all your plugins or synths that famous thick sound you all know well. It is stereo and has MIDI control. Put it as an insert into your audio track or behind your synth plugin. Use the frequency and resonance dial for a static sound, or feed it with MIDI-notes to use the integrated envelope generator!
V1.2 has a new GUI (on request of a major company, who thought it looked too similar to their products), an envelope follower, two more filter types (BP, HP) and a faster envelope.

Available for Windows PC as VST-plugin.

The Minimoog ! one of the synth that had the biggest impact in history of synths.
This is a difficult task to emulate the moog sound with virtual synth, you have to take care of the electronic components and their characteristics.

Let’s start the dance :

1. MinimogueVA by Gunnar

Download and information : Gunnar archive site

Based on the Richard Brooks synthedit sources of “mogue”, this is a very nice VST emulation of the famous miniMoog synthesizer.
It’s a Synthedit creation : It works for Windows and 32 bit VST hosts.
You can also found a polyphonic version (MinimogueLuxus VST).
The three oscillators are here, and the filter does the job.
A simple arpeggiator is also a nice addition.

2. Model Mini by ElektroStudio

ModelMini VST

Info & download : http://www.elektrostudio.ovh.org/index.php?go=mini

A free VST that can stand for the “best free VST recreation of a Moog synth” title.
Sounds good, works for Windows (32 bit).

3. Freemoog by Cyclik

Moog Filter Vst

Created with Synthedit, it sounds different than the two previous VST synths, but it sounds good.
And that’s all we want. It’s free, and works in all 32 bit VST host under Windows.

4 RA Mowg by Chris Anderson

RA Mowg VST

Emulation of a Minimoog model D. Created with synthedit. It’s not bad.

5. ASynth by Antti.

download and test it : http://antti.smartelectronix.com/

It’s not really a Minimoog emulation, but with its two oscillators and the filter set on “MINI” , it does “Moog-ish sounds”. The quality is superior. Don’t forget to check out the Taurus emulation on the same site too !
ASynth VST is donationware, and still one of the best VSTi.

6. Minimoog+ by Synthfellow

Synthfellow Minimoog+ VST

Moog Source Vst

Info : archive & download

This is an oooold VST plugin created with Synthedit about 10 years ago.
It has some playing/retrigger bugs, some parameters are not well “calibrated” and the presets don’t do it justice.
But with some tweaking, it can do nice leads and bass !

Moog Voyager Vst Plugin Vst

A good synthedit creation, it’s inspired by the legendary miniMoog, and it adds some interesting features : chorus + delay. You can modulate the filter, and there’s an arpegiator!
